Thread 5: Two birds with one stone (quietblack)

[The two birds being: 1) relieving frustration, and 2) getting back in shape after recent events made him laze around too much.
So he's training. Again. Thankfully it's not as violent as the last time you might've found him at it, but he's used the fact that the girls were occupied with Beryl and Sapphire is sleeping to go out and get a good workout, and now he's gone to practicing hits and dodges. The dummy's back, in a better state than last time.
He's not caught up in it as much as last time so he'll probably feel anyone approaching]

Haven't had coffee before. Hear it's real bitter though.

Depends how you drink it. I like it that way, but some people add tons of milk or cream in it.

IMO It's best when it's bitter and sweet.

[nudges his cup a bit] You can try it while I finish yours? But yeah if you like it sweet you might be better off with a Starbucks one or something. They have some with caramel in it.

He pulls the cup over and gives it a wary look. After a moment he takes a sip, then immediately puts it down and pushes it back over with a grimace.] Thanks, but I think I'll stick with the chocolate for now.

[He nods and looks around. He'd been here twice before, but he hadn't really payed attention at those times.]

[there isn't much to see, really. The door to his room is closed, the kitchen's mostly practical, and there's a ladder leading into a hole in a corner of the living room space.
Other than that, the table you're sitting at, a sofa and a tv with various consoles plugged]

You play video games a lot?

Less than before but yeah.

Yeah, haven't been able to find much to do so I just read. What kind of games you play?

Fighting games, RPGs.. a few other things, but I'm not as good on those.
[and suddenly he remembers tetris. there's a fraction of second of pause]

I'm not that great at games, but I do like RPGs. Kinda like reading a book, only it takes longer.

Where's the fun in that? Gotta immerse yourself in the story to have the most fun.

I do okay in random battles for the most part, but I always get stuck on bosses and can't finish the game...
