Thread 5: Two birds with one stone (quietblack)

[The two birds being: 1) relieving frustration, and 2) getting back in shape after recent events made him laze around too much.
So he's training. Again. Thankfully it's not as violent as the last time you might've found him at it, but he's used the fact that the girls were occupied with Beryl and Sapphire is sleeping to go out and get a good workout, and now he's gone to practicing hits and dodges. The dummy's back, in a better state than last time.
He's not caught up in it as much as last time so he'll probably feel anyone approaching]

Well, they kinda picked me.

[laugh] Really?

Yup. Terrie just started following me one day, and Mame decided he liked me after he stole my lunch.

[grin] For real? Guess they really liked you.

Don't have to be as energetic as they do. Just need to know that I care about 'em.

[grin] They'd be blind if they didn't see it.

Not all that hard to do. Just gotta know your limits. [His expression gets a little grim here.] Got Yanappu out of a situation like that... His old trainer loved Pokemon, but she couldn't handle too many at a time... Yanappu was being neglected... I tried to give her some tips, but she gave him to me instead. Said he was starting to distrust her and that I could take better care of him... [Shrug]

I'm pretty sure you will.

Yeah, he already seems a lot happier.

[hair-- well, hat ruffle, however that works]
They're lucky to have a trainer like you.

[He blushes a little and smiles]

Well, she was my first. I'd just gotten here and it was my first time really dealing with pokemon... [chuckle] It's kinda scary in a way, when everyone is a trainer and could trash you without any trouble...
And yeah one of your doubles helped me catch her, but I hated hurting her...

Kinda weird since I don't normaly give a damn about people at large, huh?

It's not weird. Pokemon bring that side out of mmany people. [He smiles and scratches his head.] Not sure I'd be able to do it. Haven't managed to actually catch a Pokemon yet.

[He thinks for a moment.]

Are there a lot of strong trainers here?

[laugh] Maybe you're too nice to catch them.
And yeah, looks like it. At least the Gold and Silver I've seen here are pretty damn badass. And your double looks pretty strong, too.

[He grumbles a bit.] Not really a good quality if I'm aiming to be a good trainer...

...Wonder how long they've been at it.

Depends. What's your goal, to cath'em all, or to have a knit team?

[stretches] From what I've gathered, my double's been at it for years. Touya started about a year ago I think? You'd have to ask him, I can't remember?

Haven't... really thought of what my goal is. Other than... y'know...

[Nod.] I'd like to see them in battle someday.

You're better off with guys you can trust for that, right?
[and since they've reached the house he opens the door, keeping it open in a mock galant manner]

That's true.

[He gives a small laugh as he steps through the door.] Thanks.

[Don't mind the kitty, she's sleeping in a corner of the sofa with her BFF and sister or sorts snuggled against her]
